AJIO Techster Story - Vidushi Gupta

Since the beginning of my career at Reliance, I have learned something new and meaningful every day. It all began with a training session in Mumbai at Reliance Corporate Park, where leaders from different teams across Reliance, the parent company of AJIO, gave an overview of their work and responsibilities. I was astonished to learn that, Reliance as a whole, has embarked upon so many horizons and is on the verge of expanding hugely. Soon afterwards, all of the recruits attended a boot camp organised by Crio.

At the boot camp, we were introduced to Spring Boot, Redis cache and various new technologies. The sessions at the boot camp helped in creating a healthy, competitive environment conducive to learning. But, it was not all work and no play at the boot camp. The organisers catered to all our needs and made sure that we enjoyed our stay in Mumbai. They even organised fun outdoor activities and sport competitions for us, not to mention the stay at an extravagant place and the mouth-watering food.

At the end of the boot camp, all the recruits were assigned to different locations and businesses across the country and I got placed in AJIO, Bangalore. At the Bangalore office, I learned that AJIO uses next-generation technologies to build all its products. Some of which includes artificial intelligence, machine learning, cloud-powered distributed search engine, and robust backend services. My initial days as a member of AJIO’s microservices team was very educational. I got to experiment a lot. I worked with different technologies like Redis Cache and Kafka. I even helped in building web services.

Once I got a clear picture of all the technologies at AJIO and its extended uses, my manager gave me a new project to work on. It was overwhelming to see my work go live and its impact on the end-users. My work-life balance has also been great. We get to be a part of all the fun parties and activities organised by JIO in Bangalore. AJIO's workspaces are equipped with state-of-the-art facilities to ensure the happiness of its employees. The open office culture helps employees grow and learn faster. Our managers and mentors are very understanding and knowledgeable. Working with them has helped me grow both professionally and personally.

Being a part of  JIO & AJIO,  gave me an opportunity to attend this year’s Grace Hopper  Celebrations India (GHCI'19). It was a three-day event where technologists from all over the country gathered to celebrate women technologists and their work. Companies from all over the Asia-Pacific region participated in career fairs to encourage more women to join the world of tech. They even offered the participants new roles in challenging fields such as AI/AR, Blockchain, NLP and ML. It felt great to be a part of a movement that advocates equal opportunity for everyone. Seeing all the talented, ambitious women at GHCI'19 gave me the courage to dream bigger. JIO was one of the silver sponsors of the event. We, as a collective team, displayed all our recently developed products and world-class tech stack using an interactive chatbot. We also organised fun games and competitions for the attendees. Our fun giveaways were a hit among all the attendees. To put it in simple words, GHCI'19 was fun and enriching at the same time.

I’m glad that I chose AJIO as a stepping stone to a successful and fulfilling career in technology. Here, my learning curve has been steep and my confidence has soared.
