As 2020 begins, I want to reflect on what I have learnt in the past year. Last year witnessed big changes, leaving campus after spending four years there, moving cities and starting a role as an Engineer-II at AJIO. What stood out for me the most at AJIO is the knowledge environment that it has created. There's no such thing as knowing too much here. Let me backtrack to explain this a bit more. Since childhood, I have been fascinated by science. Learning about new inventions, exploring stories behind technologies, breaking down that electrical engine I got for my birthday and trying (often successfully) to put it back together again was, well, me. My love for science and technology led me to take up a Bachelor’s degree in Geological Technology from IIT-Roorkee. IIT was a world unto itself. Between running for classes, understanding complex theories, running up endless canteen bills and wasting countless nights to long philosophical discussions, there were interesting p

Since the beginning of my career at Reliance, I have learned something new and meaningful every day. It all began with a training session in Mumbai at Reliance Corporate Park, where leaders from different teams across Reliance, the parent company of AJIO, gave an overview of their work and responsibilities. I was astonished to learn that, Reliance as a whole, has embarked upon so many horizons and is on the verge of expanding hugely. Soon afterwards, all of the recruits attended a boot camp organised by Crio. At the boot camp, we were introduced to Spring Boot, Redis cache and various new technologies. The sessions at the boot camp helped in creating a healthy, competitive environment conducive to learning. But, it was not all work and no play at the boot camp. The organisers catered to all our needs and made sure that we enjoyed our stay in Mumbai. They even organised fun outdoor activities and sport competitions for us, not to mention the stay at an extravagant place and

I have always recommended AJIO to people who are looking for growth in career and will continue to do so. Because I can’t think of another organisation that is as progressive and inclusive as AJIO. Women are given the same opportunities as men and are encouraged to step out of their comfort zones. It’s an organisation that is best compatible with my work ethics, and I can say this without a doubt because I’ve been here for six years now. I know the brand inside out.  From managing a single team as a Category Head at Reliance Trends to managing all the buying teams as the Vice President Buying & Merchandising at AJIO, my journey here has been full of new opportunities and experiences. Every day comes with its own set of challenges. We have to put our brains together and come up with innovative solutions to solve them. It’s never easy and neither is building a successful business that can revolutionize the marketplace. It’s the team’s determination and hard work that h

Techsters 2019 We recently welcomed young engineers from across the country to attend our three-week boot camp, a compact program conducted by experts from different business units and sub-organizations. The Techsters, as we call them, were introduced to the entire gamut of technological operations at Reliance through hands-on sessions. Although they impressed us with their talent from day one, our mentors gave them individualized guidance at every stage with the core objective of molding them into excellent problem solvers. We enjoyed every bit of hosting this curious bunch and sharing our knowledge with them. After three-weeks of fun and learning, we asked our newly-recruited Techsters at AJIO to share their experience at the boot camp.   Needless to say, their charming personalities and youthful enthusiasm are a perfect fit for AJIO.  Read on to know their side of the story.    Name : Dipali Arya    College : IIT Kharagpur What are your biggest takea
